PAULINA LANZ
researcher · storyteller · educator
Materiality, memory, and
cultural studies scholar.
I write about the role that material culture plays in the construction of everyday lives.
Teaching Philosophy
A big part of my understanding of the world comes from my relationship to the senses, and how they help us better understand our surroundings.
About my Research
As a researcher, my interest lies in the process of being –felt, listened-to, seen, and kept– in the world, by finding connections among text-based materials, media-rich elements, and experiential objects.
Stories
By taking on a multi-method, multi-sensorial, multi-experiential approximation to the materialization of memory, it allows us to go beyond the selection of certain materials and the discarding of others, and to prompt to think about the selection of materials that were once considered as leftovers.
